The Sportsmen’s Alliance is seeking a qualified candidate for its state legislative affairs department. This department leads the Alliance’s grassroots efforts to advance its state level advocacy agenda.
The position is based out of the organizational headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, with the individual reporting to and collaborating with the Vice President of Government Affairs to build campaigns to advocate in support or opposition of legislation, rules, or regulations at the state level. This includes the development, management and execution of legislative campaigns, ballot issue campaigns, organizing grassroots support and fundraising to support sportsmen and their outdoor pursuits.
Additional duties include managing the Alliance’s efforts to monitor, analyze current and emerging state legislation and policy issues. Writing advocacy related content regarding legislation, regulations and other related issues for social medial sites and print publications.
A passion for hunting, fishing, and trapping is desirable. A desire to win and an interest in helping advance a growing organization in an exciting and fast-paced environment is necessary.
