As part of a holiday season effort to push its radical anti agenda, PETA unveiled a “Holiday Snowball” video game in December. The game attacks those who PETA considers “notorious animal abusers” through four levels of animated mayhem. This includes fashion designer Donna Karan, Madonna, Charlton Heston, Kentucky Fried Chicken’s Colonel Sanders, and a bikini-wearing Sarah Palin.
The object of the game is to throw snowballs at each of the characters mentioned. The first stage has players throwing snowballs at Madonna, Karan, and the Olsen Twins, whom PETA dubs the “Trollsen Twins”, inside a shopping mall. In the second stage of the game the action takes place in a graveyard where the object is to force the ghoulishly reanimated Col. Sanders and Charlton Heston back in the grave by hitting them. The third stage pits the user against horse trainer Larry Jones.
The final stage has a fur coat and bikini clad former republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin attempting to shoot Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The player’s objective again, is to pelt Palin with snowballs. After “winning” the game, the last scene actually shows Rudolph pounding his hooves on Palin’s head in a shocking display of violence.
This last stage of the game prompted an e-mail war between PETA’s founder, Ingrid Newkirk and Palin’s Director of Communications, Bill McAllister over allegations that someone from Palin’s office threatened to sue PETA over the game.
